First-Time Customers

Purchased Online/Offline directly from PDF XChange

After a completed purchase has been processed on or offline directly from our website, you'll receive an invoice, or order comfirmation by email that includes both a download link for the program installer, your new secure serial key as text, and a license file attachment.

A) Automatic Method: Post Installation - Using License File attached to Invoice/Order Confirmation Email

   *(requires any new version to be downloaded and installed already)

1) Once you've installed the product, go back to your invoice/order confirmation email and double-click the attached .xcvault license file.

2) If the dialog below is displayed select Open with: XCVault Module click OK.

3) You will be notified when the license file has successfully been entered.

4) Run the Program, in this example the PDF-XChange Editor and goto Help> License key to confirm the license installed correctly.

For Other PDF-XChange Products:

PDF-XChange Editor & Viewer: Open PDF-XChange Editor or Viewer, go to Help> Enter a Serial Key

PDF-XChange Lite, Standard or Pro 2012 bundle:  Go to your Printers list/Devices & Printers, right-click the PDF-XChange Printer 2012 or Printer Lite 2012 and select Printing preferences; Click the About tab, press the Registration... button

PDF-Tools: Open PDF-Tools, Click Preferences button, then click the About Tab; press Serial Key button

) Manual Method 1: Serial Key Entry during program installation

This method is the standard way most software installations commonly work:

1) After a completed purchase has been processed you'll receive an invoice, or order comfirmation by email that includes both a download link for the program installer, and your new secure serial key.

The serial key text you need to highlight, right-click and Copy is everything contained between the two "=============" lines, including the lines is optional.

    

2) Download and Run the program installer from the download link provided on your invoice/order confirmation email. When you get the screen below right-click anywhere in the Serial Key field, and click Paste and then complete the installation.

3) Run the Program, in this example the PDF-XChange Editor and goto Help> Enter a serial key to confirm the license installed correctly.

For Other PDF-XChange Products:

PDF-XChange Editor & Viewer: Open PDF-XChange Editor or Viewer, go to Help>Enter a Serial Key

PDF-XChange Lite, Standard or Pro 2012 bundle:  Go to your Printers list/Devices & Printers, right-click the PDF-XChange Printer 2012 or Printer Lite 2012 and select Printing preferences; Click the About tab, press the Registration... button

PDF-Tools: Open PDF-Tools, Click Preferences button, then click the About Tab; press Serial Key button

) Manual Method 2: Post installation - Direct Entry into Product *(requires any new version to be downloaded and installed already)

1) After a completed purchase has been processed you'll receive an invoice, or order comfirmation by email that includes both a download link for the program installer, and your new secure serial key.

The serial key text you need to highlight, right-click and Copy is everything contained between the two "=============" lines, including the lines is optional.

2) Goto the appropriate program's License Registration section:

For PDF-XChange Editor or Viewer: Open PDF-XChange Editor or Viewer, go to Help>Enter a Serial Key

PDF-XChange Lite, Standard or Pro 2012 bundle:  Go to your Printers list/Devices & Printers, right-click the PDF-XChange Printer 2012 or Printer Lite 2012 and select Printing preferences; Click the About tab, press the Registration... button

For PDF-Tools: Open PDF-Tools, Click Preferences button, then click the About Tab; press the Serial Key button
 

3) Click the Add Key from Clipboard button to add the serial key from the clipboard; then click Ok.

You will be notified of the successful addition of the key, and the new serial key will be visible in your Installed License Key list.
Click Close, and then click OK to close the Preferences Window.

Purchased through a Registered Reseller (Distributor Build)

Due to the requirement of the new secure serial keys to have your email address and name(optional), embedded in them, Registered PDF XChange Resellers will deliver, or your Boxed Products will include, a product Activation Key rather than a full serial key.

In order to activate your Product you must already have downloaded and/or installed the product before using your Activation Code to license it.

A) Post Installation: Using Activation Key

1) Download and/or Run the program installer from the download link provided on your invoice/order confirmation email or from your boxed CD.
 

2) Goto the appropriate program's License Registration section:

For PDF-XChange Editor or Viewer: Open PDF-XChange Editor or Viewer, go to Help> Enter a Serial Key

For PDF-XChange Lite, Standard or Pro 2012 bundle: Go to your Printers list/Devices & Printers, right-click the PDF-XChange Printer 2012 or Printer Lite 2012 and select Printing preferences; Click the About tab, press the Registration... button

For PDF-Tools: Open PDF-Tools, Click Preferences button, then click the About Tab; press the Serial Key button
 

3) Click the Add New License Key... button

 Enter your Name (optional), E-mail address to which the activation code is associated (required) & copy/paste in your Activation Key & click Contiue...

*IMPORTANT - Take care to enter your email address correctly

5) 

You will be notified of the successful addition of the key, and the new serial key will be visible in your Installed License Key list.
Click Close, and then click OK to close the Preferences Window.
