The features that I like more are: - It is very fast to open many documents at startup (when the last session is restored). - It is very fast when scrolling between pages (also for huge documents) - The documents can be edited to add notes and to highlight interesting text The only thing I would like to be added is a session manager to load and save many sessions (not only the last)

Possible the best PDF reader ! Adobe Reader like a Hulk, last FoxIt Reader came with some bugs that making reading sometimes impossible, but PDF Viewer is excellent !

I've used PDF-XChange Viewer (Free) for the past three to four years. This is the only PDF Viewer product that I would think of using. It's solid, reliable and very easy to use. Today was the first time I really wanted to edit a PDF file and I could see that PDF-XChange Viewer's PRO features could do what I wanted. I had no hesistation in buying the PRO licence. Now, what was already a great product for me is now a fantastic product for me. Hallo Leute! Ich hatte bisher immer den Adobe Reader installiert, weil er umsonst war und weil man ein PDF-Programm braucht. Es hat mich aber gestört das der Adobe Reader den man umsonst bekommt so viele Löcher und andere Fehler hatte. Also bin ich bei den bekannten Zeitschrift-Webseiten auf die Suche gegangen und bei Chip.de wurde ich fündig dort gab es die Download-Charts: Top 100 PDF-Tools der Woche. Ich habe mir alle angesehen und habe mir dann den PDF-XChange Viewer von tracker-software.com heruntergeladen. Bis heute bin ich mit dem Programm mehr als zufrieden und kann es nur empfehlen.

The only good PDF maker/reader/editor with =annotations=! Highlighting and note-adding are critical for any sort of decent PDF use beyond reading. This does it with flare and style.

Excellent tool! I was looking for an alternative to all the other pdf-readers which I have never been happy with, found a review of the 5 best readers which had a poll showing more than 50% of the voters preferred PDF XChange over the alternatives. I can easily understand why, this reader has all the best functions from the others, just done better!

The best pdf editor for everyone. I have been using the free version from last 3 years and it is great.I however wonder why they dont provide a similar version for linux?

it straddles the middle space,neither too light,stripped of useful features or too resource heavy bloat,that sits like a leviathan on the tiny shoulder of your pc.its an essential must have pdf all in one that a smart pc is unthinkable without.

My Adobe Reader was always hanging on me so I looked for another pdf reader. This had good reviews so I tried it. I used to do a lot of printscreens to convert pdf pages to jpeg and I absolutely love the Export to Image function of PDF Xchange Viewer. It makes my job so much easier! It also pains me to have to fill up pdf documents by hand, and I really appreciate the Typewriter Tool! I uninstalled my Adobe Reader after trying this. I am a very happy user. My only complaint is that I can't figure out how to put in a conversion factor for the Measuring Tools.

Light and super fast. Just love it.

When it came to other vendor's products, the problem was CPU and disk space/access efficiency and most other readers were 32-bit exclusive with no 64-bit counterpart. Its also fantastic that just installing the 64 bit version of this product on a 64-bit version of Windows gives both 32 and 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer "in-page" reading capabilities. After installing and test driving PDF-XCV, i immediately adopted it as "my personal standard", what I really wanted was a PDF reader that uses what my computer has to offer, and this product has ticked every box.

First off, I normally don't go out of my way to write reviews but in this case I felt compelled to. I have been using this product for almost a year and it has been the best PDF reader that I have used, hands down. My main reason for ditching the 'traditional' PDF reader was because it would freeze, take too many resources (seriously, why does a PDF program need to be 200+MB?!) and took over the system with all sorts of weird background services. The 'typewriter' feature is absolutely amazing and so useful if you want to fill out forms without printing them when you're going to send them electronically anyway. Just try it. Your life will be filled with unicorns and rainbows.

I have just used this for 2 minutes and I was so amazed of the so many things it can do. This is an amazing piece of work -D

I recently switched over from using Foxit reader to using PDF Exchange because your product can have more than one document open at the same time and actually remembers my position within all documents. Even if I close one it seems to always load it right where I left off! This (and the fact that unlike Foxit reader you don't take 20 minutes to load all those 4234132413.... plugins that almost nobody uses) is why I picked your product over all others. Ty for the most awesome PDF reader on the planet! MM

Finally I've found exactly what I wanted! I've just installed this program, and it works great. I ran across this software accidentally while looking for a "PDF Editor." All the other programs I found wouldn't even let you insert text into the document but PDF-XChange Viewer does all that plus more. Talk about a smart piece of software that just works the way it should.

I love the new smooth scrolling when I press the mouse wheel. It never worked that well in Adobe or other tools. Press the wheel once, move it slightly down and the page scrolls slowly up so that you can keep reading without touching the mouse or keyboard. Overall an excellent PDF Viewer. I uninstalled Adobe Viewer.

I love PDF-Xchange. And I've tried a whole lot of other programs so I know what I'm talking about when I say this is the BEST PDF viewing software out there. I have to say again how terrific this pdf program is. After trying all the competitors including the "big name" product, I find PDF XchangeViewer to be the simplest, fastest and most robust pdf viewer in the market. It does exactly what I want!

This is by far the best PDF reader available. The feature which I like most is that it remembers the last page which I had opened and it remembers the last print option selected (current page, current view, etc.). This is excellent software

Simply better than the rest. I looooove the editing tools, especially the markers and comment adding. It's also quite light, so I usually keep an open session all throughout the day. It's on my limited list of must-have apps!

+++++ Very nice PDF viewer. Now I can translate any word from the text exactly inside the PDF with my Lingvo x5 and have no need to copy a word in the dictionary (Adobe reader doesn`t support it).

Excellent software! Fits perfect for my engineer studies combined with my Lenovo x201 tablet. With the tablet functions I can make notes in the lecture slides. I do miss an "lasso selecting" tool, but everything is far over expectations and therefore this gets the highest score!

Have been a user of PDF-X for several years. No other PDF viewer allows this much UI customization as well as support for tabs., bookmarking and comments. As a student often working with several big source documents, PDF-X  is one of my main working tools and I really couldn't work without it. Besides, I have been filing a few bug reports and the staff has always been extremely supportive and they do get things done. Too bad there isn't a native linux version.

I can EDIT and SAVE pdf forms for free? Unbelievable! View and markup are excellent too. Forget Acrob_t, you want PDF-XChange Viewer, trust me.

I don't write reviews but this time I had to say something. I've used Adobe (bloat), Foxit (current version sucks), and Nitro (friggin ribbon interface). I was looking around for something more streamlined with annotation and came across PDF-XChange Viewer. I just installed the free version and I have to say this program simply puts the others to shame. It's very quick, the interface is clean and concise, rendering is crisp, has annotation(NICE!!!) and it's highly configurable as is the browser plugin(Firefox) which on it's own is brilliant. For my needs PDF-XChange Viewer is perfect. Thank You to the developer for this great piece of software.

I've only been using this program for 5 minutes, but it has everything I've been hunting desperately for in a pdf viewer. Even the little things that I grew attached to from other readers are in here, plus a couple things I never dared hope for.

This is the best pdf viewer and editor that I've ever used. more simple and easy to use than Adobe Acrobat and doesn't load your pc full of unused services etc.

I'd gone from Adobe Reader 7 to 8 to 9 and then upgraded to X. Adobe X is a complete bloated banana slug that doesn't work across networked PCs! I tried Foxit a while back and it didn't meet my reader requirements. I downloaded the Portable free version of PDF-XChange and what a joy to configure and use. I'm going to purchase the Pro Version right now. BTW, I've been using full versions of Adobe Acrobat for years becuase they are so much faster and easier to use than the later versions. Adode is one of the worst perpetrators of feature sprall in the business. Chas.

Wow, just what we have been looking for. This program was downloaded and installed in less than 5 minutes and I had a modified pdf file in less than 2 minutes. Extremely well done and so easy to use. Thank you so much.

I've been using this viewer exclusively for a year now. Without question, my favorite PDF viewer, whether Pro (which I have) or Free (which I used for a while). Pro features are worth it, but the viewer is worthwhile even without them. I use the portable version, and am extremely happy with it!

Our children have a bad eyesight. They use PDF-viewer to read and work in their schoolbooks for several years allready. I am grateful to the developers of this software, because it is an important and very user friendly instrument for their development. Applause!

Hello, Just wanted to thank you guys for this great piece of software you offer for free. I'm really amazed at it's capabilities and it just keeps surprising me day to day as I find new features. This is much much much better than the other (sadly) more popular PDF reader as regards its features and its light use of computer resources - so much so, I can't even think of anything that I miss in Adobe since dropping it a few months ago. I'm in Academia and PDF XChange Viewer supports me in various ways: 1) Writing reviews has never been easier by pointing out all those small typos and small issues directly in the PDF. 2) Going on a journey, I simply print out all schedules and tickets as a PDF and combine them hassle-free with PDF XChange Viewer in one document. 3) In general, PDF XChange Viewer has made my office more paperfree by allowing me to really read and annotate PDFs on screen. 4) Wonder how to get EPS or PDF images into OpenOffice writer or impress? Best way I found so far is to open the PDFs in PDF XChange Viewer, copy it, and directly paste it into OpenOffice. I wish OO was better, but that is the best workaround so far. Plus, I really have to say that for such a little price the service of Tracker software is incredibly good. I had three little problems to resolve, and at all occasions I got a very nice and helpful email within at most one day. What can you ask more? I recommend the free version to all of my students and think that the professional version pays off very fast. Thanks for this sound and helpful product.

A great pdf viewer. Since PDFXViewer 2.5.194 added the feature that allows bookmark editing, I don't have to use Foxit Reader 4 anymore! Well done! Thanks a lot!

I love this PDF viewer! The most robust Windows-compatible viewer for the money. And, it has the added benefit that it doesn't hog system resources like Acrobat. I've installed PDF-XChange on all my computers.

It is very rare that I write to compliment a software vendor, but I recently upgraded from PDF -XChange Viewer Free to Pro and it is an outstanding piece of software at a very reasonable price. It effectively replaces several other programs that I paid for and are lousy. Congratulations on being a shining light in this day of overpriced and buggy software. I am a user of several years. On and off, I have tried many products for handling PDF files and PDF XChange viewer does everything I need SO WELL. So often when I use the product I say to myself: "Boy am I glad I have this thing!!!" I whole-heartedly recommend the application.

This is awesome. I am a trainer and Adobe Acrobat ACE and never thought a free download would deliver so many features for $0. I really like it so far, tried it out on a pdf and very impressed can't wait to explore it more.

I wanted a pdf reader that is fast to load and easy to search. Xchange viewer has got more than needed and it is fast. Also the free editor itself allows to mark up the pdfs I hate adobe reader now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am a college student and get a lot of readings that are pdf files. Printing them is a headache (not to talk about wasting paper), but all I needed was a FREE app that allows me to highlight text and make comments wherever I wanted. It has made my life a thousand times easier, and saved me a lot of money.

This is a very good (best) software that I ever use. User friendly. Acrobat Reader should improve... many version already still not so user friendly.

This PDF viewer is way better than Adobe. It's faster, easier on the system resources, and doesn't use an annoying software manager and downloader installing extra software you don't need or want. I'd recommend PDF XChange over Adobe any day of the week for any Windows user. Hopefully Tracker can get a Linux and Mac version out as well. I just also wish I could vote more than 5 stars...

I've used a ton of pdf viewer and mark-up software ever since pdf came into existence. This is the best program I have ever used!!!!!!

PDF Xchange Viewer PRO is worth every penny (Rappen, in my case). If only every developer would make software as good as this one... Portable, easy, powerful, useful, thanks a lot for this program!

I love this program. Its better than foxit reader. Its better than adobe's pdf reader. Its quick and best of all its free. I love the fact that I can edit pdfs that are already finished and save them as pdf files.

Awesome product! I had been using a competitor's product (Nitro PDF) but was tired of the software crashing multiple times during a project. This freeware has a more-intuitive interface and has not yet crashed after being up all day. Thank you!

Excellent all-around viewer; 2 features which I especially appreciate: 1. Gamma adjustment for rendering - love it, why does nobody else have this? 2. If you use 64-bit Windows there is no native support for pdf thumbnails in explorer--even with Adobe Reader or Acrobat! Easiest way to get them is to install 64-bit PDF-Xchange.

Just out of interest, I use the Viewer a lot. Really a lot. There is nothing out there that is better.   Further, I teach about 2 million students on National Radio here in South Africa, and provide I.T. Services to the Ministry of Education. They were "wowed" when I showed them the Viewer.   I have also appeared on National TV for Technology. IN 2007, as a part of a 2 member team, we wrote a programme for mobile, and won the International Microsoft Innovative Teacher Awards held in Finland. We beat 75 other countries.   This year, I want to enter again. This will be part of a bigger application which we have completed. This Microsoft competition is non-profit, but provides international recognition across newspapers, TV, radio, Websites, etc.   If you are curios how we use the XChange Viewer for teaching, I can send you details. I am not joking when I say that the XChange Viewer is going to help our country a lot!   This year, it is all about IT in South African education. I intend to introduce everyone here to Tracker Software Products, in particular the PDF XChange Viewer. Plain awesome. Highly customizable and fast. Provides a very useful highlighter tool. What's really good is that it allows me to hide its UI completely so I can focus on reading. I altered Hand hotkey for H, Highlighter for Ctrl + H and Notes panel for Shift + Ctrl + H, so I can reach all functions I need from a PDF viewer with 3 hotkeys.

I concur with other comments. Adobe Reader is the pits and you get no support from these people on what has shown to be a continuing problem wtih Adove Reader 9.4. error message says "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close down. Removed and re-installed 3 times with same results. Could not even locate an older version to try.  

So - install PDF-XChange Viewer and all is solved !

The final straw with Adobe Acrobat was looking, at length as usual due to their complicated user interface and unhelpful help site, for a way to resize font in text boxes and callouts. Finally, I searched the Internet, only to find . . . Adobe Acrobat does not even provide this capability! That was it. A V-8 moment occurred, without the head-slapping: Why the heck did I abandon PDF XChange 4 Pro for this bloated, pretentious piece of junk from Adobe? I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat (saving myself 4GB of hard drive space in the bargain) and reinstalled PDF XChange 4 Pro. The first thing I noticed were the text box and callout tools and, lo and behold, the drop down menus for selecting text fonts and sizes. No hunting, no perplexity, no frustration. This and so many other things are more convenient, better presented and documented, and just plain easier to do in PDF XChange 4 Pro. V-8 moment! This time, including head-slap. Ouch!

I just wanted to markup pdf files which Adobe reader just somehow doesn't allow. This program did it even in the free mode. My other frequent use is the search function over directories/multiple files which this program performs so much faster in searching and opening files than the 'other' reader. And its so affordable. I'm buying this program.

Lo más usado no es siempre lo mejor, he realizado el cambio de visor de PDF y ahora no paro de recomendar este programa, fácil, sencillo, rápido, ligero y en español. Después de usarlo te preguntarás por qué usabas Adobe Reader. Lo único pega que le veo es la interfaz y sus iconos, que dan apariencia de sobrecargado, pero eso se arregla desactivando las barras de herramientas que no vayamos a usar y listo.

I had first started to look for a replacement for Adobe Reader more than a year ago. With every new update from its engineering team, Adobe Reader was becoming an ever bigger hassle to work with. The installer was becoming ever more larger, and the application itself, whilst becoming more pleasant to the eyes, was also becoming ever more unresponsive and resource-hungry. I first tried Foxit Reader as a replacement. Foxit was a great alternative to Adobe Reader. It was much smaller (the install only took several seconds, as opposed to several minutes for Adobe Reader) and I felt that it was easier to handle a large library of PDF's with it. But, whilst it was an improvement over Adobe Reader, I still felt that there was room for improvement, so I kept searching software review websites to maybe find a better one. By chance I stumbled upon a glowing review of PDF-XChange Viewer and was so impressed I just had to give it a try for myself. I installed PDF-XChange Viewer and about 30 minutes later uninstalled both Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader. I had found my new default viewer! :) The installer is a small package. The application loads in a snap and handles large libraries of PDF's beautifully. It doesn't get jammed when you have over a dozen PDF's open at the same time. It particularly handles PDF's that are filled with many color images much better than both Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader. The free version also has a good number of functions available, which will probably be enough for even most power users. But if you can't seem to find a function you want, the PRO version will most definitely have it included. If you're running Adobe Reader or some other PDF viewer and feel that there's something missing, look no further. THIS is your new default viewer! :D

Adobe may have come up with PDF format, but it is, sadly, no longer the best software company to view/work with PDF files. I found resorting to using older Adobe product versions, simply because they were faster. Acrobat/Reader has become unbelievable bloatware. I found the PDF-XChange software to be faster and easier, with better interface, and producing just as high a quality PDF output as anything Adobe puts out. Highly recommend checking it out! Competition is good, and this software is definitely giving overpriced Adobe HOGWARE a run for the money!

It is indeed THE software to use for viewing/editing pdf files. I hope products such as PDF-XChange Viewer beats Adobe's defective, clumsy and poorly integrated revenue streams and put them out of business. Adobe's products are not meant for the average user and are always in a pre-alpha release. Yet, it is very unfortunate that Adobe charges a minimum of $400 for Acrobat 9. Advantages of PDF-XChange Viewer: It works as advertised - opens, edits pdf files and even displays them in popular browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE too) without error or warning dialogs. Fonts and figures appear crisp and clean.  

As an engineer I have used your viewer for about 2 years and have been blown away by your progress! I also converted our entire office over to your software. I will never look back to adobe bloatware again.

All I needed was something to highlight or block out parts of a PDF document before printing. I certainly wasn't going to pay out £100 for something I use rarely. This program does exactly what I need... and more. This is excellent simple to use no messing quality software. If I find I'm using it often, I will definitely purchase.  

I use it on a Windows 7 touchscreen. The chemistry is great! It satisfies two things I consider key; easy natural touch panning, and remembering the last viewed page. The pencil tool, even if not designed for a tablet pen, is surprisingly smooth with a stylus. My recommendation for tablet pc pdf reader.

Buenísimo, hace mucho que lo estoy usando y la facilidad para hacer anotaciones y modificar los pdf me encanta. Es mucho más interactivo que los otros que he probado. Sólo diría que falla en su apariencia, el de adobe es mucho más bonito, pero bueno, es un detalle.

I just downloaded the PDF XChange Viewer, free version. I needed a program that allowed me to fill some PDF forms that didn't have "fillable fields", and so could not be filled in Acrobat Reader. I could use the typewriter tool from PDF XChange Viewer, and it worked like a charm. I could fill the form, and save it to return by e-mail with absolutely no problem. Great functionality, easy to use, and FREE! What more can I ask? Coffee? Great work, thank you very much!
