1. Click Document in the Menu Toolbar, hover the mouse over Signing, and then click Sign Document:

A blue bounding box will appear beneath the pointer that represents the signature field:

2. Move the bounding box to the desired location and click to create the digital signature field. The Sign Document dialog box will open:

• Select a signature from either the System Store or the local computer.
• Enter text in the Reason for Signing, Location and Contact Info text boxes as desired.
• Use the Sign Template dropdown menu to select a default template for the layout of the digital signature. Click Manage to manage existing digital signature templates (see below).
• Select the Use Timestamp Server box to use a timestamp server to verify the time at which the signature is added to the document. Click Manage to manage existing Timestamp Server profiles,

Manage Existing Digital Signature Templates

The Digital Sign Appearance Templates dialog box will open when this option is selected:

The four default digital signature templates are detailed in the image above. They are:

• The Default template, which features the digital signature image on the left and the signature details on the right.
• The Default (RTL) template, which features the digital signature image on the right and the signature details on the left.
• The Default (No Graphic) template, which features only the signature details and aligns the text to the left.
• The Default (No Graphic, RTL) template, which features only the signature details and aligns the text to the right.

• Click Clone to clone the selected template. This is a useful feature in cases where it is desired to edit template settings but also retain the existing template.
• Click Reset to reset the settings of the selected template.
• Click Delete to delete the selected template.
• Click Edit to edit the selected template. The Edit Template of Digital Sign dialog box will open:

• Use the Template Name text box to edit the name of the template.
• Select an option from the Show Graphics list to determine the graphic that displays with the template. Click Custom Icon to upload an image (such as a signature) from the local computer.
• Select boxes in the Show Text section to determine the text details that the template displays, and select an option from the Text Direction dropdown menu to determine the alignment of text.
• Click OK to save changes.
