When I print documents from Google Chrome, MS Edge, Firefox or other modern browsers, the text cannot be selected, or it is distorted under high zoom:
The default print settings in most modern browsers convert printed webpage text into "curves". This means that text information is lost, and that the output text is uneven and cannot be selected. The browsers themselves are responsible for this issue, and there is no way to change the settings in our PDF-XChange software in order to resolve it when printing from a browser.
However, there are alternatives.
The PDF-XChange Standard virtual printer includes a plugin for all chromium-based browsers, such as Google Chrome and MS Edge, that enables the direct conversion of webpages to PDF - without the need for printing the documents. This means that the original text is retained, as the printing process of the browser is bypassed.
The PDF-XChange Editor also offers a "New document > From webpage" function, which builds off the Microsoft's Web functions to directly convert the webpage without your browsers making changes to the page content beforehand.
With this option you can enter your webpage URL, and customize the page size/layout, before clicking OK to generate an output file.
