How do I combine multiple documents into a single PDF using PDF-XChange Editor or PDF-Tools?
How do I combine two pages of the same size (such as A4) into a single page of a larger size (such as A3)
Note that Combining pages requires that the pages in question are contained within the same document.
Also note that both of these actions can be performed in PDF-Tools by using the respective tools, which have all the same dialog options as in the Editor.
To use the Editor to Combine PDF click:
File > New Document > Combine files into a single PDF
Click add file or Add Folder and browse for the document or folder you want to merge into a single PDF.
When clicking Add Files you will see a list of the available file formats in the File Explorer window, under the “type” menu (note that this article may not reflect the full list, as new formats are added over time). Do also note that Non-PDF file types will be converted with standardized “default” settings. In some cases, you may want to convert a file to PDF separately, before merging it, to gain more control over its conversion settings.
You may order the files to be combined by Title, Location, Type, Size, Modified [date] and Page Range in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column heading. The document creation order can be modified manually by using these buttons to move the selected document up or down in the list:
Page Ranges: Click on the Page Ranges button in order to define the pages of the selected files to be included in the new combined document. All pages of each document are included by default.
Options: Click the Options button for additional settings as follows.
