How do I disable the PDF-XChange Updater?
Our Updater will not run automatically (without user input), unless specifically configured to do so, please contact your system admin if you are unsure whether or not your updater is configured this way.
There are several methods that can be used to disable the PDF-XChange Updater.
Note that while the following will prevent our software from self-updating it will not prevent third party utilities, such as your security software or version management system, from reinstalling or updating our applications without your consent. Please check into such applications and ensure you have disabled their auto-update features for our products.
The installation switch /NOUPDATER disables the PDF-XChange Updater. Please see the relevant user manual for further information. Our user manuals are available here.
Alternatively, select Custom Install during installation and ensure the PDF-XChange Updater is not included:
1. Open the PDF-XChange Updater and click Settings:
2. The Updater Settings dialog box will open. Move to the Autostart tab and select Never:
3. Click Save. Updates will then remain disabled until this setting is changed.
